Technologist & Cultural Researcher

Portrait of Matt Savage
Technical Co-Founder of What Cheer House.

I build durable, low-footprint digital systems for publishing, research, and applied cultural work. Based in San Francisco, my practice centers on long-term infrastructure: tools and frameworks designed to support archival inquiry, generative processes, and independent institutions.

I am the Technical Co-Founder of What Cheer House, a San Francisco–rooted cultural studio exploring the interplay of machine intelligence, historical research, and artistic practice.

Much of my work has developed in collaboration with visual artists working in and around the Bay Area. Over the past decade, I have helped design computational and generative systems that extend traditional media into data-driven and algorithmic forms, often grounded in local histories and landscapes.

I am also Co-Founder and Developer of SuperSuperbill.com, a secure web application used by healthcare providers to generate and manage superbills for out-of-network patient reimbursement.
